We take almost anything that can be made safe: hand tools in any condition, older power tools with their guards, unloved garden machinery. What we cannot take is anything with a damaged mains lead we cannot replace, or petrol equipment with a seized engine — those cost more in bench hours than a replacement does.
tip If the tool belonged to someone and you would rather it stayed in use than went to the tip, say so. We keep a note on the card.
